Our mission

The mission of Respiratory Physicians of Southwest Washington Durable Medical Equipment is to provide state of the art medical durable equipment tailored to the need of each individual patient in the most caring, compassionate, yet efficient and most cost effective manner possible. 

 

We will work hand in hand with the treating physician to streamline the application of durable medical equipment and to monitor its successful use in the treatment of the patient with sleep disorders, as an integrated team. 

 

Education is the key

We will educate our patients about their sleep disorder and strategies for its optimum treatment to include use of their durable medical equipment.

PAP Therapy

What exactly is PAP Therapy?

PAP stands for Positive Airway Pressure and is used to treat sleep apnea. 

 

PAP therapy is delivered through a mask you wear over your nose or face.  It blows air into the back of your throat so the airway stays open and you are able to keep breathing as you sleep.

 

The continuous positive pressure helps keep your airway open while you sleep.

 

Durable Medical Equipment (DME)

The vision of Respiratory Physicians of Southwest Washington's Durable Medical Equipment is to set the standard of excellence for successful treatment of sleep disorders through patient education, coordinated care and follow up with the treating physician and provision of durable medical equipment for patients with sleep disorders in the most efficient, cost effective, caring manner possible.

 

 

The basic PAP machine is called CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) and provides constant pressure at all times.
