Respiratory Physicians of Southwest Washington tests and treats a variety of allergies (environmental or food).
Some allergies can be diagnosed through a simple clinical visit; while others will require more in-depth allergy testing.
All of our patients can expect thorough follow-up, education, and treatment options specific to their allergy and therapy.

Dr. Black is board certified in the inter-related specialties of sleep medicine, allergy and immunology, pulmonary disease, and internal medicine.
Currently Dr. Black is limiting his practice to sleep medicine, and allergy and immunology.

Shirely, LPN – Practice ManagerShirley, an LPN, is our Practice Manager. She started working with Dr. Black 23 years ago as his nurse.
Fourteen years ago, her role expanded to manager as the practice grew. To date, she continues in her dual role at RPSW Sleep Disorders Center & DME.
Shirley is the pioneer and the foundation of our team, our staff and patients love and appreciate her!
Marsha, RPSGT – Sleep Center ManagerMarsha, a registered sleep technologist, is our Sleep Center Manager. Her career in sleep medicine began some 8 years ago when she started working for Dr. Black as a nighttime technician.
Her passion for helping people continues as she sees patients in our CPAP clinic and trains them on the use of Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) therapy and educates them about sleep disorders. Marsha brings the passion for education and patient care to a whole other level.
Gina, – Lead Technologist / DME ClinicianGina has been part of our nighttime sleep team since 2006. Her compassion for patients and exceptional attention to detail are the invaluable qualities that set our team apart from the rest!
As the sleep medicine field continues to evolve, our needs at RPSW continue to change as well.
Gina's role now entails working during the day following up with patients on their compliance and/or sleep disorders, and helping out with the DME inventory. Gina is a asset to RPSW and we're so excited to have her as part of our daytime team!
James – Sleep TechnicianJames is one of our sleep technicians on the night team! He started his career in the sleep medicine field 2 years ago. To date, he is working towards the completion of his ASTEP modules so he can sit for the board exam to become a registered technologist.
He is adored by our patients, and has a genuine desire to help calm the fears of those that are coming in for a sleep study.
James’ commitment to excellence and patient care bring so much to our team!
Melissa – Office AssistantMelissa is our office assistant; she’s been working with Dr. Black for 13 years. She started working in our medical records role and has expanded her responsibilities to include billing, sleep, and DME.
Melissa brings commitment and loyalty to our team, and so much more!
Kathy – Billing RepresentativeKathy, our billing representative, has worked for Dr. Black for 13 years. Her primary focus in our office encompasses her knowledge of insurance, processing claims, and she is our billing liaison.
Kathy’s energy and determination are the attributes that strengthen our RPSW team!
Maricela, LPN – Allergy NurseMaricela, an LPN, is our Allergy Nurse! She started working with Dr. Black 4 years ago and has excelled in her role.
She performs the allergy testing, creates serum for the immunotherapy, and pushes clinic for Dr. Black on Thursdays.
Maricela brings a positive and upbeat attitude to the RPSW team!
Jennifer – DME CoordinatorJennifer has been a registered polysomnographic technologist for 6 years!
She brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to the RPSW team.
Aside from amazing patient care, Jennifer also handles our inventory and supply requests. We are so happy to have Jennifer as a part of our team!
Stefanie – DME Billing CoordinatorOnce our famed receptionist, Stefanie has joined the Sleep & DME team. Stefanie coordinates benefits and authorizations for our patients and handles all of the DME billing.
Stefanie will aid in helping our patients with positive airway pressure compliance downloads, resupply orders, general billing questions, and budget plans. We encourage growth within the company and we’re happy to have Stefanie’s diligence and expertise in the Sleep & DME clinic.
Tammy, MA – ReceptionistTammy's adventure with RPSW continues on! Once our Medical Assistant, Tammy has moved up to the front office as our Receptionist.
She is the face of RPSW and happily assists patients with general questions, appointment check-in, and scheduling.
We're excited to have Tammy on as a full-time member and we're excited to see her excel in her new role.
